Berkeley, California is a picturesque city on the east shore of the San Francisco Bay in Northern California and about 20 minutes from San Francisco

Length of Placement
12-18 months

Salary
$1,700/month; opportunity to receive raise pending positive performance review

Housing
Housing is not provided but employer is willing to help search.

Position Description
Participants will learn all about accounting and finance operations for an experienced  importer in the retail industry.  This is a great opportunity to get hands on experience in the field with a small, dynamic and international team.  Candidate will manage foreign factory and domestic accounts and learn to balance fixed expenses and revenue against purchases of merchandise as well as help in the financial planning of new retail lines. Participants will also organize and track payments to factories and vendors and expected receipts from customers while learning budget maintenance skills and how to adjust forecasts based on actual market conditions.  This position is a fantastic way to build upon your knowledge of financial operations and gain real world experience.

Requirements
Must have excellent English communication skills.  Educational background and experience in Finance and/or Accounting required.
